Stephen and Greg:My in-laws were at Grande Vista last week, and attended a sales pitch while there.  They are multi-week owners who have enrolled in the DC program.  Their pitch was targeted at getting them to purchase additional Trust points to "enhance their investment".  Anyhow, the sales person actually was telling them about VacationPointExchange.com and even jotted down the www address for them, telling them the site is a nice feature to augment the system by being able to rent out any unused points they may have in any given year and get $$ in return.  I figured you guys would get a kick out of being part of the sales pitch now!!!  😮

Wow, that is interesting — and very unusual.  I will be curious if we hear repeated reports of this, or if it was a rogue salesman…Steven, maybe we should buy banner ads on vacationclub.com or TUG.  🙂Best,Greg

I'm all for direct marketing but we could just target these people.http://www.linkedin.com/vsearch/p?orig=TSEO_SN&company=marriott+vacation+club+international&companyScope=C&title=sales+executive&trk=TSEO_SNOffer to send them cards with the VPE address and give them the sales pitch.  This way, a salesman can backup their claim that they can borrow from other owners easily.

I too was surprised.  They said she brought it up in response to my in-laws objection that they felt they were getting very close to having more points than they could use in any given year.  I guess her angle was that even if you do find that you have more than you need in a given year, you can rent them out to cover your MF costs.  Ohhhh those sales peeps, always ready with a response to every objection.    ;D
