Hi – I'm new to all this. Just saw a presentation this weekend and bought the 3,500 point package, but am still within 10 days to cancel. Have learned a lot from all your posts so thank you. My conclusion is the following but would like to get thoughts from others:- Buy the minimum # of points to get into the MVC program (e.g. 1,500 points). Although I have read that people have paid $595 to be in the MVC program but I have never heard of that. Is that still available.  Would be great if I could just buy one beneficial interest unit to get into the MVC program. This also keeps the dues/fees down. - When you need more points, just buy from other "renters" who are renting their points since it's pennies on the dollar.Does the above seem like a reasonable approach to maximize the program benefits but minimize the upfront costs? Some additional questions:1. Is there are marketplace for me to buy someone else's beneficial interest units?     a. Is this a lower cost approach then going buying from Marriott? I would think so.     b. Are there restrictions (such as limitations on what I can book, exchange etc)  if I buy from this "marketplace" rather than from Marriott?    c. Any fees if I want to acquire someone's beneficial interest units?2. Is there a reasonable supply and demand for "rental" points on this site? Again I'm new so I just don't know how difficult it is for me to buy or sell MVC points. 3. I'm readying buying and selling points is about $0.50 on the dollar. So if I needed 1K points, it would cost me $500? Any limitations on how I can use points if I buy from someone else?4. How difficult is it to book your vacation? I would be at the lower end level... I think called "standard". The contract said that president, executive levels can book 13 months in advance while the lower levels book 12 months in advance so not sure how this impacts availability if it's truly not a level playing field to book vacations in the MVC program  5. is it difficult to book vacations during kids vacations/breaks. I have elementary and middle school aged kids. So basically how does availability look for June - August, spring break in April, winter break in December, and ski week in Feb? I know this various by each school districts specific schedule, but I'm just asking a general question about availability. thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

If you posted this on the TUG Marriott Forum, you would likely get a lot of quick responses.  Most of the activity here is just transactional around renting points.  Much more free flowing of ideas over on TUG.Here is the link if you are interested in posting your question there.  http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=29
