Hello, found this site from the Tug where I'm a newbie as well.May be interested in renting out some banked 2013 points and 2014 points to offset the cost of a cruise we'd like to do in Alaska in 2014.Thanks!

good evening….It is my understanding that points can only be moved once... IOW..if you banked points from 2013 to 2014 this counts as a "move" and these banked points cannot be "moved" to another account. You can "rent" your 2014 points as they are unrestricted as there has not been a "transaction"Greg and Stephen help me out here....

I believe you are right.  The banked 2013 points can't be transferred.  But it seems pretty early to bank 2013 points. Don't we have until June to bank for 2013?

Yes, we have until June 30 to bank our 2013 points — and points that have been banked can not be transferred to a third party. Best, Greg

Hi all, yes you were right the 2013 points have not yet been banked, don't know why I said that!  Just came back tonight to review this website and see if I want to rent out my points.  And I have all of 2014 available as well.Question if anyone can answer:  I'm possibly looking at a cruise that will take 5000 points for my husband and myself.  The cash rate for the cruise is only $2,346.  So, if I understand correctly, and I can get on average maybe 60 cents per point by transferring them to someone else, those 5000 points would net me $3,000.00, saving me about $650?am I missing anything here?

You are not missing anything.  However when looking to convert the points to other usage you should also look at other factors. I'd say you can definitely rent all of yr points at .50 a piece.  Any higher price and the rental slows down.  Just realize that it could take a couple people to rent all 5000 points.  The savings of $650 is all relative.  However renting at .60 a point should be doable.  But when doing calculations for value I'd use .50 or .55 as a figure to see if its worth it.  If you are able to rent at a higher price that would be a bonus.
