      Good Morning,I am attempting to transfer my banked points to another owner i was told by Marriott that is not allowed.  How do i transfer points if they are not banked.  Thank you in advance for any help.

      Hello bonroxie19! Welcome to VPE!Yes, it is true that you cannot transfer banked or borrowed points to another owner.  You can however, transfer points to other owners to be used on the same allotment year (ex. 2017 points can be transferred to another owner to be used for a 2017 reservation only).Transferring points is pretty easy. The only way to do it as of now, is to call owner services and ask them to transfer the points to the other owner's account.  All you need is the other owner's name and account number.  Marriott Vacation Club (MVCI) doesn't charge a fee at the present time for the transfer service.  Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that MVCI does point transfers in increments of 25 only.       thank you for taking the time to reply back.  as i understand it know in 2017 before i bank my points is when i should offer then up to rent out.  that why they can be transferred.  for my 2016 points i can rent a place for someone but cannot just transfer the points to someone if i understand correctly.thank you for the help.bonnie

      Hello Bonnie!I don't think I explained it well. I'll try to explain it differently. You can rent points from any year to another owner and transfer them, but the other owner has to use them for the same year (2016 has to be used in 2016, 2017 has to be used in 2017 and so on).If you bank or borrow any points you cannot transfer them to another owner. An alternate way to get around this is for you to make the reservation yourself and add the other owner as a guest in that reservation. The latter typically works best for non owners or owners who have totally depleted their points, but want to make a reservation. I hope I was able to explain it a bit better.
