All,I visited Kauai Lagoons last month, and it is a beautiful property.  The location is terrific and as others have noted, almost every room has a nice Ocean View (even the Island View designations).A few additions to what's already been posted:1) Kauai Lagoons is right next to the airport (this is not a negative as there are a modest number of flights per day).  It is the first turn off the main road (on the left) when you leave the airport -- it's that close.2) Costco is about two miles away, off Highway 50 (which is one of the main roads).3) There is also a supermarket in the shopping center across the street from the Costco4) Kauai Lagoons does not sit on a useable beach -- there's definitely a beach, but the water is very rough.  It's great for lava rock walking though, and there is an arch in the near distance where the waves come pounding through, very impressive.5) This is an isolated property -- the surrounding resort plan was never built.  So there is no on-site bar, restaurant, amenities.  Kauai Beach Club is about 1/2 mile away, but not really a convenient walk.6) The units are very well appointed, as this was intended to be a Grand Residence Club, but was converted to MVC when the economy collapsed.7) If you like shave Ice, just as you leave the property (exiting by the hotel property, onto Hwy 51), there is a little roadside cafe that also sells shave ice.  It was the best we had on the island.8) Kauai Lagoons is central to everything, but not close to anything.  It was 45 minute drive to Hanalei Bay, an hour to Waimea Canyon, 30 minutes to Port Allen, 20 minutes to Poipu.  We liked the central location, but recognize that a car is a necessity, and we went somewhere every day because on-site options were limited.9) There are four BBQs located by the pool with beautiful views of the harbor channel.  Each BBQ also has a table so we ate outside many nights.10) Bugs were not a problem at KL, but whenever we went on an excursion, we needed Off to keep us from getting bitten (my wife gets bitten all the time).I hope this helps!Best,Greg
